Flying geese model is Oliver Kim’s label in Getting entrepreneurial in Korea (Summer School) for the historical pattern where industries and expertise move from earlier industrializers to later ones. The episode describes textile capability moving from Japan to South Korea and Taiwan, then later from South Korea and Taiwan toward poorer countries such as Bangladesh.

The model frames development as moving knowledge, not just money. The source also keeps the pattern limited: transfer can launch a garment sector, but the Industrial Ladder can stall when later upgrading into more complex goods does not happen.
