Liao City commander dilemma / 辽城守将进退困局 is the political-military trap 《资治通鉴·秦纪》101-1｜这位倒霉君王登基三天即猝死 builds around the unnamed 燕国 commander holding 辽城. After capturing the city from 齐国, he is accused to 燕王喜 of rebellion, while 田单 besieges him from outside.

The dilemma is not simply lack of military strength.
