Five Dynasties social mobility is EP252 《太平年》之外的五代十国，什么样？’s account of how war broke older aristocratic, clan, and bureaucratic barriers. The episode treats this mobility as double-edged: it created extraordinary openings for military men and local strongmen while also destroying lives, institutions, and security.
