安国 / Anguo (Khotan, late Han)
Updated · 1 episodes · 1 show · 1 source notes
Overview
安国 / Anguo is the son of 于阗王建 installed as Khotan king after Wang Jing’s banquet killing and Shubo’s failed self-enthronement in Hanji 838. His importance is succession repair: Khotanese actors use Jian’s line to stabilize the polity after two violent disruptions.
Current Profile
Anguo appears only at the end of the Hanji 838 incident. After Wang Jing kills King Jian and Shubo kills Wang Jing, Shubo tries to make himself ruler. Khotanese people reject Shubo and kill him, then install Anguo as the original king’s son.
The source does not develop Anguo’s reign. His current wiki role is therefore narrow: he is the legitimate or acceptable succession endpoint after rumor-driven intervention and a failed internal seizure.
Key Characteristics
- Son of King Jian and successor chosen after Jian’s violent death.
- Succession endpoint accepted after Khotanese people reject Shubo’s self-enthronement.
- Restores the royal line rather than rewarding the general who killed Wang Jing.
- Source-scoped figure whose role is stabilization, not a developed reign profile.
Evidence
- Familial basis: Hanji 838 says Anguo is King Jian’s original son.
- Post-Shubo installation: Hanji 838 says Khotanese people install Anguo after killing Shubo.
- Succession repair: Hanji 838 places Anguo’s installation after Wang Jing’s and Shubo’s deaths, making him the crisis endpoint.
Qualifications
Anguo’s page is bounded to one notice in Hanji 838. The wiki does not infer his age, reign quality, relationship with Han, or later Khotan policy from this source.
What Changed
- Created the Anguo page from Hanji 838.
- Added Anguo as the Khotan succession-repair endpoint after Wang Jing and Shubo.
