Apprentice Boys of Derry
The Apprentice Boys of Derry appear in 698. The Troubles: The Brink of Civil War (Part 2) through the 12 August 1969 parade commemorating the relief of Derry in 1689. The episode says James Chichester-Clark and Jim Callaghan both had reasons not to ban the parade, so it went ahead despite the explosive local atmosphere.
The parade became the immediate setting for insults, thrown objects, scuffles, an RUC baton charge into the Bogside, and the beginning of the Battle of the Bogside. The group therefore functions in the wiki as part of contested public ritual rather than only as an organization.
