Hanji 599 presents Bao Xuan after Wang Jia’s death and Kong Guang’s restoration. When Kong Guang travels as chancellor, his accompanying officials use the emperor’s central roadway, which the episode treats as illegal. Bao Xuan orders the offending entourage arrested and confiscates the carriage and horses.

The later punishment reverses the moral direction of the enforcement scene. Bao Xuan is accused of humiliating the chancellor, closing gates against messengers, and violating ministerial etiquette.
