奔鹤 / Ben He
奔鹤 / Ben He enters the wiki through Hanji 186 as a middle official under 英布 / 黥布 in 淮南国. The episode writes his name as 奔鹤 and presents him as a zhong dafu-type attendant familiar with Huainan’s internal affairs and with the deteriorating relationship between 刘邦 and the remaining different-surname kings.
His core move is a private access gamble. Because Ying Bu’s favorite concubine visits a skilled doctor living opposite Ben He’s home, Ben He uses the doctor to meet her, hosts her, and gives her jewelry so she will praise him to Ying Bu. The attempt turns him into the source case for 内廷通道攀附风险: an outer official tries to reach the ruler through the inner quarters and creates suspicion instead of favor.
When Ying Bu suspects illicit contact and prepares to arrest him, Ben He flees to Han territory, reaches 长乐宫, and accuses Ying Bu of rebellion. 萧何 recommends that Liu Bang detain Ben He while secretly investigating Huainan, but the report itself becomes part of the escalation that convinces Ying Bu that revolt is unavoidable.
