曹彬 / Cao Bin
Cao Bin / 曹彬 is a Song general in 170.宋太祖之死:烛影斧声,阴谋论中的人性谜团(下)’s discussion of the southern campaigns. After the disorder and violence of the Shu conquest, [[ZhaoKuangyin|赵匡胤 / 宋太祖]] reportedly instructs Cao Bin and other commanders not to slaughter after taking cities.
The episode uses Cao Bin to show that Taizu could learn administratively from earlier conquest failure. The contrast with [[WangQuanbin|王全斌]] does not erase the violence of unification, but it shows a ruler trying to make later conquest more disciplined.
