Hanji 917 backfills Cao Jie as one of the eunuch favorites named in 吕强’s refused-title remonstrance. The episode normalizes the transcript’s 曹杰/曹洁 to Cao Jie and makes him part of the marquisate and family-privilege problem that Lyu Qiang says violates the no-merit-no-marquis standard.
The closing hook also makes Cao Jie the next target after 阳球’s destruction of 王甫. Cao Jie’s survival depends on his closeness to 汉灵帝, setting up Hanji 918’s leaked anti-Cao Jie plot.
