柴武 / Chai Wu

柴武 / Chai Wu enters the wiki through Hanji 167 part 2 as one of the commanders of the third line in 韩信’s 垓下之战 formation. The source pairs him with 周勃 over the final ten-ten-thousand-person line.

His wiki role is to mark the stopping point of 项羽’s shock attack. Xiang Yu breaks through Han Xin’s first line and 刘邦’s second line, but by the time he reaches the Zhou Bo / Chai Wu line, the Chu force is exhausted and cannot break the formation. Chai Wu therefore belongs to the final holding layer inside 纵深分层防御.
