长安君 / Lord Chang’an of Zhao
长安君 / Lord Chang’an of Zhao appears in 《资治通鉴·周纪》91丨触龙如何敲开守寡赵太后的门(1) as 赵威后’s youngest and most beloved son. When 秦国 attacks 赵国, 齐国 conditions aid on Zhao sending Chang’an Jun as a hostage.
In the first half of the story, Chang’an Jun is more political object than active agent. His value comes from what others do around him: Zhao Weihou refuses to expose him to hostage risk, ministers cannot move her, and 触龙 has to reframe protection as a long-range future rather than immediate physical closeness.
《资治通鉴·周纪》91丨触龙如何敲开守寡赵太后的门(2) resolves the immediate question. Zhao Weihou sends him to Qi with more than one hundred carriages, Qi dispatches troops, and Qin withdraws. The episode therefore turns Chang’an Jun from a blocked hostage proposal into the concrete guarantee that unlocks rescue.
