陈庄 / Chen Zhuang enters the wiki through 《资治通鉴·周纪》52丨 陈庄叛秦 端起碗吃饭放下碗骂娘 as the 秦国-appointed chancellor governing conquered 蜀国. After Qin reduces the former Shu ruler to 蜀侯宁通, Chen Zhuang holds the administrative position that links Qin authority to local control.
The episode says Chen Zhuang kills Shu Hou Ning Tong and rebels against Qin in 周赧王’s fourth-year frame. The host interprets his motive through appointed-governor secession risk: 巴蜀 is hard to enter, agriculturally valuable, and politically tempting for a local governor whose power has grown.
His rebellion fails quickly in the source. The following year Qin sends 甘茂 into Shu, Chen Zhuang is killed, and his attempt to turn delegated authority into independent rule ends.
