楚威王 / King Wei of Chu

楚威王 / King Wei of Chu appears in 《资治通鉴·周纪》22丨公孙鞅诈魏公子卬 and 《资治通鉴·周纪》23丨魏惠王 悔不用公叔之言 through the compact 340 BCE succession notice: 楚宣王 dies and his son 熊商 succeeds.

《资治通鉴·周纪》28丨韩昭侯的快乐你想象不到 makes him an active ruler. After 徐州相王, he attacks 齐国 at 徐州. The episode frames his anger as more than simple interest: the Qi-Wei title exchange offends the broader status order, making Chu Wei Wang the leading military actor in 名分秩序反弹.

《资治通鉴·周纪》29丨苏秦励志爽文:知识改变命运 continues that active role. After defeating Qi, Chu Wei Wang demands that 齐威王 expel 田婴. 张丑 persuades him that expelling Tian Ying might let 田斑 or another stronger figure reorganize Qi’s army, so Chu’s interest is better served by leaving Tian Ying in place.

《资治通鉴·周纪》32丨“史上首位联合国秘书长”苏秦 gives him the final ruler role in 苏秦’s hezong tour. After Su Qin has persuaded Han, Wei, and Qi, Chu Wei Wang’s agreement completes the six-state anti-Qin line and lets Su Qin become “从约长.”

The page remains source-scoped. The earlier episodes only use the succession notice to keep 周显王’s annalistic year intact, while Zhouji 28 develops his role in the post-Xuzhou backlash and Zhouji 32 places him inside the completed hezong legend.
