邓图直 / Deng Tuzhi appears in 《资治通鉴·周纪》42丨给孟尝君提意见的后果 as the person assigned to transport the ivory bed that the Chu king gives to 孟尝君 / 田文.
The episode uses him to make the gift concrete. The ivory bed is valuable, bulky, and hard to move; Deng Tuzhi fears that any damage during transport would leave him unable to pay compensation. He therefore asks Mengchang Jun’s retainer 公孙须 to get the gift refused and offers an ancestral sword as repayment.
