董萌 / Dong Meng (late Han)

董萌 / Dong Meng enters the wiki through Hanji 898 as a huangmenling who repeatedly speaks for 窦皇太后. The episode says 汉灵帝 finds Dong Meng’s argument reasonable and increases Dou Miao’s treatment, because Dou Miao and 窦武 had supported his accession.

Dong Meng’s danger comes from the older anti-Dou grievance. 曹节 and 王甫 resent Dou Wu because Dou had tried to remove them, so they accuse Dong Meng of slandering Emperor Ling’s mother, 董太后. Dong Meng is imprisoned and killed.
