Dongting Lake / 洞庭湖

Dongting Lake appears in 65.龙王之怒：1931年的长江洪水 as part of the flood-control conflict around the middle Yangtze region. The episode says that keeping natural openings could relieve pressure on major dikes, but could also send floodwater toward lake communities.

In the source, Dongting Lake is therefore less a scenic place than a risk-distribution node. It shows why dikes, breaches, diversions, and “protection” can become inter-village, inter-provincial, and political conflicts.
