段煨 / Duan Wei (late Han)
Hanji 989 adds Duan Wei’s first Huayin supply scene. As 汉献帝 reaches 华阴, Duan Wei prepares clothes, food, vehicles, and other support for the imperial party, but his prior hostility with 杨定 makes the assistance easy to recast as a capture attempt. 杨彪 and other officials defend him, yet the emperor still avoids entering Duan Wei’s camp because the rumor field is militarily dangerous.
Hanji 990 backfills Duan Wei’s earlier Huayin role before the 贾诩 branch. During 汉献帝’s eastward movement, 杨定, 董承, and 杨奉 try to attack Duan Wei after failing to get an imperial edict against him, but Duan Wei holds out for more than ten days while still supplying food to the emperor and officials.
The episode reads Duan Wei as a rare former 董卓 subordinate who survives by refusing overreach. His later surrender of Huayin to 曹操 in 198 CE and death in office in 209 CE are used source-scopedly as evidence that local defense, grain control, and timely submission could preserve a family when the emperor-control field destroyed more ambitious rivals.
段煨 / Duan Wei (late Han) enters the wiki through Hanji 1010 as the Huayin-based general who receives 贾诩 after 汉献帝 leaves Chang’an. The transcript renders him as “段威”; this page uses the canonical historical form 段煨.
Duan Wei treats Jia Xu well, but Jia Xu judges that the courtesy is unstable because Duan Wei fears his prestige inside the army. Jia Xu therefore leaves for 张绣, reasoning that Zhang Xiu needs a strategist while Duan Wei will still protect Jia Xu’s family after the departure. The source uses Duan Wei mainly as a contrast case for 安全第一政治生存: good treatment is not enough if the host’s incentives make suspicion likely.
Hanji 1012 mentions the same move as background before Jia Xu advises Zhang Xiu to surrender to 曹操.
