Exec appears in Justin Kan on the First YC Batch, Justin.tv, Twitch, and Intrinsic Motivation as Justin Kan’s post-Twitch startup for hiring people immediately to do real-world tasks. Justin says examples included getting a Burning Man ticket delivered and sending a pizza delivery person to tell an engineer the website was down.

The company later pivoted to housecleaning and sold after about two years. In the wiki, Exec is a Service Productization and Service Marketplace Quality Control case: the user desire for instant physical help was real, but human edge cases, weak margins, and acquisition costs made it hard to turn the service into software-style scale.
