范县 / Fan County (Late Han)
范县 / Fan County enters the wiki through Hanji 978 as one of the three remaining Cao-side strongholds in 兖州, alongside 鄄城 and 东阿. The source places it under immediate pressure because 吕布’s side has seized 靳允’s family and sends 范仪 into the county.
Its source role is the county-level counterpart to Juancheng’s morale defense. 程昱 passes through Fan County, persuades Jin Yun to hold for 曹操, and Jin Yun kills Fan Yi by ambush after Fan Yi enters. Fan County therefore becomes a small but necessary piece of Cao Cao’s remaining base before the Hanji 979 Dong’e and Cangting defense.
