范方 / Fan Fang (Late Han)
范方 / Fan Fang (Late Han) enters the wiki through Hanji 961 as the cavalry commander 公孙瓒 sends to help 刘岱 operate in 兖州. His role changes once Gongsun Zan and 袁绍 become enemies: Gongsun Zan privately tells him to pressure Liu Dai over Yuan Shao’s household.
Fan Fang therefore marks the coercive edge of alliance support. What begins as auxiliary cavalry becomes a threat channel when Gongsun Zan says that if Liu Dai does not hand over Yuan Shao’s family, he will settle accounts after defeating Yuan Shao. 程昱’s advice to Liu Dai is partly a response to this pressure: Liu Dai should not treat distant Gongsun Zan’s cavalry as a reliable protector when the strategic field is shifting.
