樊丰 / Fan Feng (late Han eunuch)
Updated · 1 episodes · 1 show · 1 source notes
Overview
樊丰 / Fan Feng is a late-Han eunuch actor in the first 125 CE Yan succession settlement after 汉安帝 dies. Hanji 802 places him in both phases of the crisis: he joins 阎皇后 and 阎显 in concealing An’s death, then becomes a purge victim when Yan Xian cleans out old An-era networks.
Current Profile
Hanji 802 first identifies Fan Feng as a eunuch general in the small circle that responds to Emperor An’s death on tour. With Yan Hou and Yan Xian, he participates in the decision to hide the death, continue routine appearances, and return to Luoyang before the court can rally around 刘保.
The same source then makes Fan Feng an example of unstable post-accession alliance. After the Yan side installs 北乡侯刘懿 / 刘裔, Yan Xian has officials accuse 耿宝, Fan Feng, Xie Yun, Zhou Guang, 王圣, and others. Fan Feng, Xie Yun, and Zhou Guang are imprisoned and executed, and their households are exiled.
Fan Feng’s role is therefore not simply “eunuch versus outer relative.” Hanji 802 shows him cooperating with the Yan side during death concealment before the Yan monopoly strategy turns parts of the old palace field into targets.
