范进

范进 is the famous examination-success figure in [[RulinWaishi|《儒林外史》]], discussed in 58.儒林外史：假如考公成了唯一出路 as the entry point many readers know from school. The episode treats his madness after passing not as an isolated comic scene, but as a concentrated result of Imperial Examination As Only Exit: social contempt, family pressure, poverty, age, and sudden recognition collide at once.
