共敖 / Gong Ao
共敖 / Gong Ao enters the wiki through Hanji 143 as one of the Chu-side commanders rewarded by 项羽. The episode says Gong Ao attacked Nan commandery with merit and was made Linjiang king.
Gong Ao’s source role is to show that Xiang Yu’s settlement is not only about old royal houses or Qin surrender leaders. It also rewards Chu military actors whose campaign work helps Xiang Yu claim the authority to divide the post-Qin world.
Hanji 149 gives Gong Ao a darker follow-up role inside Xiang Yu’s order. He is named with 英布 and 吴芮 as one of the kings commanded to attack Yi Emperor 芈心 / 楚怀王 on the route toward 郴县. The episode stresses that the rulers hesitate because Mi Xin still carries old盟主 legitimacy, but the command marks how Xiang Yu uses rewarded kings to enforce his symbolic cleanup.
Hanji 162-2 adds Gong Ao’s death notice. In seventh month, while the narrative turns from the Xingyang/成皋 crisis toward 齐国, Gong Ao dies and his son 共尉 succeeds him in Linjiang.
