广陵 / Guangling Commandery

Hanji 983 adds a family-trust use before later military and administrative branches. 孙策 entrusts his mother and younger siblings to 张纮 in Guangling before going to 寿春 to serve 袁术. In this source, Guangling is less a command base than a safe social location for Sun Ce’s household while he seeks troops and office.

广陵 / Guangling Commandery enters the late-Han wiki branch through Hanji 1017, where 曹操 appoints 陈登 as Guangling administrator after Chen Deng’s judgment of 吕布. The episode treats the appointment as strategic rather than merely honorary: Chen Deng is said to train soldiers, store grain, and recruit Jiang-Huai local elites there.

In this source, Guangling matters because a local office becomes a base for broader alignment. Chen Deng can preserve his family’s position under Lü Bu in the short run while quietly making Guangling useful to Cao Cao’s eastern plan. The episode also describes Guangling as a barrier against 孙策’s northward pressure, though that Sun Ce branch is not developed in detail.

The page also connects to an earlier anti-Qin use. Qinji 130-1 says 昭平 had been sent by 陈胜 toward Guangling but had not taken it when Chen Sheng died. That use is distinct from the late-Han Chen Deng branch; it makes Guangling a target in rebel mobilization rather than a Cao-aligned administrative base.

Hanji 995 adds a violent late-Han reception case before those later branches. 笮融 flees from 陶谦’s sphere to Guangling with a large following; administrator 赵昱 receives him courteously, but Ze Rong kills Zhao Yu and plunders the commandery.

Hanji 996 adds another late-Han note before the Chen Deng branch. 张超 had served as Guangling administrator when 臧洪 was his subordinate, so Guangling becomes the remembered office relationship behind Zang Hong’s later attempt to rescue Zhang Chao at 雍丘.
