管统 / Guan Tong (late Han)
Updated · 1 episodes · 1 show · 1 source notes
Overview
管统 is presented in 汉纪1058 as a Donglai official whose loyalty to 袁谭 survives a wider Qingzhou defection wave. His case shows that Yuan Tan’s regime still attracts costly personal loyalty even as his strategic judgment deteriorates.
Current Profile
When rebellion spreads and Yuan Tan laments that Qingzhou has turned against him, 王修 predicts that Guan Tong will not betray Yuan Tan. Guan Tong soon leaves his family behind and comes to Yuan Tan; the rebels kill his family, and Yuan Tan later appoints him governor of Le’an.
The episode uses Guan Tong less as an independent political designer than as evidence that Yuan Tan’s situation is not a simple story of universal abandonment. The problem is that Yuan Tan’s remaining loyalty cannot repair the succession split or replace a coherent alliance strategy.
