关中 / Guanzhong Region
关中 / Guanzhong Region first appears in the wiki as Qin’s strategic grain and irrigation base around 郑国渠 in Qinji 104. In that branch, 韩国 tries to exhaust 秦国 through canal construction, but Qin’s interest in Guanzhong agriculture turns the supposed burden into durable state capacity.
Qinji 132 turns Guanzhong from Qin’s capacity base into the political prize of 怀王之约. 芈心 / 楚怀王 promises that whoever first enters Guanzhong and destroys Qin will be made king there. The source therefore makes the region not only a military target but a legitimacy object for the coming Chu-Han settlement.
Guanzhong also separates the two mission tracks in this episode. 刘邦 is sent west toward Guanzhong because older Chu generals present him as more suitable for pacifying Qin’s exhausted population, while 项羽 is assigned to the 巨鹿 rescue under 宋义 because his earlier violence makes him politically risky as a pacifier.
