桂阳郡 / Guiyang Commandery (late Han)

Hanji 919 adds an earlier Guiyang security branch: bandits from Guiyang join bandits from Cangwu in attacking commanderies and counties until Yang Xuan of Lingling suppresses them with an improvised lime, fire-horse, and crossbow-wagon tactic. The note ties Guiyang to cross-commandery disorder rather than a single contained local uprising.

桂阳郡 / Guiyang Commandery enters the wiki through Hanji 1027 as the third commandery in the southern Jingzhou alignment that 桓阶 recommends to 张献. It appears as part of a regional structure rather than as a separately narrated commandery.

In the source, Guiyang helps make the breakaway large enough to matter. Together with 长沙郡 and 零陵郡, it represents nearly half the source’s stated Jingzhou commandery field, so its movement toward 曹操 turns southern local discontent into a constraint on 刘表.
