郭汜 / Guo Si (late Han)

Hanji 965 adds Guo Si’s pre-attack position as one of the Dong Zhuo remnant commanders caught between Wang Yun’s refusal of pardon and the risk of dispersing troops. The episode keeps him paired with 李傕 in the survival calculation that 贾诩 redirects toward attacking 长安.

Hanji 966 backfills Guo Si’s first role in the post-董卓 return to 长安. In this source, he is one of the remnant commanders whose force joins 李傕 after 贾诩 advises counterattack rather than dispersal, and he receives office after the capital falls.

The episode also shows the early Li-Guo coercive pattern before the later hostage symmetry. Guo Si appears with Li Jue in the demand for 王允, the purge of anti-Dong-Zhuo figures, and the use of captured court authority to summon 宋翼 and 王宏. Hanji 966 therefore supplies the first captured-court layer before the rivalry, hostage, and route-control branches dominate later pages.

Hanji 969 adds Guo Si before the later hostage and route-control sequence. In this source, 钟繇 persuades Guo Si and 李傕 to release 曹操’s appointment rather than keep obstructing the envoy, so Guo Si appears as part of a court-capturing military pair that can still authorize useful titles while not restoring normal court command.

Hanji 973 adds Guo Si before the later 李傕-Guo Si rupture. He is sent with 樊稠 and 李利 against 马腾 and 韩遂, helping Li Jue’s side win at 长平观之战 and then attack Huaili.

In this source, Guo Si is still part of Li Jue’s coalition rather than Li Jue’s open rival. That makes the episode a pre-rupture snapshot: the same armed bloc can defeat an outside threat while internal suspicion around Fan Chou and later Guo Si is already waiting to surface.

Hanji 979 adds Guo Si before the later hostage-taking branch. He receives the 后将军 title and kaifu-style privilege to open an office like the Three Excellencies, placing him alongside 李傕 and 樊稠 in a court where appointment recommendations are increasingly captured by armed commanders.

Hanji 984 backfills Guo Si before the hostage-banquet branch. He is one of the Chang’an 凉州系军阀 actors whose conflict with 李傕 follows 樊稠’s death and the resulting distrust among generals.

The episode gives 郭汜妻’s poison story as the immediate emotional trigger: she frames Li Jue’s food and wine as dangerous and says one cage cannot hold two roosters. The source then narrows the causal claim: Guo Si’s suspicion accelerates the rupture, but the deeper conflict is competition with Li Jue over the court, soldiers, and control of 汉献帝.

Hanji 985 backfills Guo Si’s hostage-taking before the later mediation sources. While 李傕 holds 汉献帝, Guo Si detains ministers including 杨彪, 士孙瑞, and 朱儁. His banquet scene turns the court into a captive audience: Yang Biao directly rebukes the double hostage structure, Guo Si nearly kills him, and 杨密 has to intervene.

The same episode shows Guo Si’s feud becoming a military and factional attack. He coordinates with 张苞 inside Li Jue’s camp, launches a night assault, wounds Li Jue’s ear by arrow, and sends arrows into the emperor’s tent area before withdrawing when the camp defense holds.

Hanji 986 backfills Guo Si as the rival whose dispute with 李傕 draws repeated mediation from 汉献帝. In this episode Guo Si accepts 皇甫郦’s mediation, while Li Jue refuses, insults him as a horse thief, and insists on killing him. The source still does not make Guo Si innocent; Huangfu Li explicitly says Guo Si has taken ministers hostage, but he uses that fact to show that Li Jue’s seizure of the emperor is even more serious.

Hanji 988 backfills Guo Si’s role before the Xinfeng and Huayin route obstruction. After months of fighting with 李傕, Guo Si accepts a fragile settlement only after mediation and hostage bargaining, then his soldiers block 汉献帝’s carriage at the bridge out of Chang’an. The episode makes the blockage a small but vivid case of 名器合法性 under coercion: once the emperor is visibly identified, the soldiers step aside, but they have already shown that route access belongs to armed men.

Hanji 989 adds Guo Si’s obstruction immediately before the Huayin fight. After receiving title recognition, Guo Si still refuses the emperor’s move toward Hongnong, preferring a route that would keep 汉献帝 nearer his own control. His later plan at Xinfeng to force the emperor back west fails after Zhong Ji alerts 杨定, 董承, and 杨奉, turning Guo Si’s control project into flight toward Zhongnan.

Hanji 990 backfills the temporary reunion with 李傕 before the pursuit sequence in Hanji 991. After 杨定 attacks 段煨, Guo Si and Li Jue recognize that the real prize is 汉献帝, not victory in their private feud; Guo Si then blocks Yang Ding’s attempted retreat toward Lantian.

Hanji 991 backfills Guo Si’s pursuit role before the Anyi and Luoyang-return branches. He appears with 李傕 and 张济 in the renewed chase after 汉献帝, turning the imperial flight into repeated battle, captured officials, scattered court records, and emergency reliance on 白波军 and 南匈奴 reinforcements.

郭汜 / Guo Si (late Han) enters the wiki through Hanji 992 and Hanji 999 as 李傕’s rival in the contest over 汉献帝. Hanji 992 keeps him inside the peace-and-release backdrop around the emperor’s flight, while the ruined 长安 branch shows that the Li-Guo crisis has already destroyed ordinary urban order.

Hanji 999 then uses the Li Jue-Guo Si conflict to show why the emperor’s physical escape does not restore sovereignty: each armed “protector” can also become a captor.

In this source, Guo Si is part of the setting that makes later court politics legible. Once the emperor leaves the immediate Li-Guo danger, he still falls among 董承, 杨奉, 韩暹, and 张杨, so the problem shifts from one military pair to a broader field of interested escorts.
