韩成 / Han Cheng
韩成 / Han Cheng enters the wiki through Qinji 130-3 as a surviving descendant of the old 韩国 royal house. 张良 recommends him to 项梁, arguing that restoring Han can make Chu’s anti-Qin movement stronger by giving it another old-state ally.
Xiang Liang accepts the proposal, appoints Han Cheng as Han king, and makes Zhang Liang Han’s situ. Han Cheng and Zhang Liang then lead more than one thousand men westward into former Han territory.
The source keeps his restoration fragile. Han Cheng’s force takes several cities, loses them again to 秦国, and can only keep moving around Yingchuan as a guerrilla-style force. His page therefore illustrates both the appeal and the weakness of 六国复国式反秦策略 when symbolic title outruns military base.
Hanji 143 records Han Cheng as one of the old kings Xiang Yu initially leaves in place. In the episode’s settlement list, Han Cheng remains Han king with Yangdi as capital. His case contrasts with lords such as 臧荼 and 田都, whose new titles come from closer alignment with Xiang Yu’s campaign.
Hanji 144 adds the darker sequel to that fragile placement. The episode says Xiang Yu later treats Han Cheng as a criminal and kills him, pushing 张良 further into determined opposition against Xiang Yu on 刘邦’s side. This is not a contradiction with Hanji 143; it extends the timeline from initial allocation to the resentment and retaliation produced by the settlement.
Hanji 144 part 2 gives the immediate logic of the killing. Xiang Yu reads Zhang Liang’s choice to follow 刘邦 as evidence that Han Cheng lacks merit or reliable attachment to the Xiang order. He detains Han Cheng on the way back to 彭城, demotes him from king to marquis, and then kills him, turning a symbolic Han restoration figure into a casualty of Xiang Yu’s coercive repair of the settlement.
Hanji 149 records the consequence for 张良. With Han Cheng dead, Zhang Liang has no viable restored-Han ruler to serve, so he changes clothes, flees by small roads, and joins 刘邦. Han Cheng’s death therefore becomes one more case where Xiang Yu’s coercive settlement repair sends usable talent into the Liu camp.
