韩广 / Han Guang
韩广 / Han Guang enters the wiki through Qinji 128-8 as 武臣’s general sent to take old 燕国 territory after Wu Chen has become king of 赵国. Yan-region notables instead make Han Guang their own king.
The source frames his kingship as both opportunistic and hostage-constrained. Han Guang initially refuses because his mother remains in 邯郸, but local advisers argue that Zhao is boxed in by 秦国 to the west and 张楚政权 to the south and therefore will not risk harming her. Zhao later sends his mother and family safely to Yan.
Han Guang’s second source role is the captive crisis around Wu Chen. After Yan captures Wu Chen and demands land, several Zhao envoys are killed. 赵厮养卒 then persuades Yan that killing Wu Chen would give 张耳 and 陈馀 a righteous pretext to attack Yan, and Han Guang releases him.
