韩王信 / Han Wang Xin

韩王信 / Han Wang Xin enters the wiki through Hanji 149 part 2 as an old 韩国 royal descendant used by 刘邦 to restore a Han title under Liu Bang’s authority. The source explicitly distinguishes him from the general 韩信.

The episode says Han Wang Xin had followed Liu Bang and 张良 into 关中 and then into Hanzhong. After Liu Bang defeats the Three Qin, he appoints Han Wang Xin as Han taiwei and promises to make him Han king.

That promise becomes useful after 郑昌, the Han king installed by 项羽, surrenders. Liu Bang then makes Han Wang Xin king of Han and places 颍川郡 under his authority, turning old Han legitimacy into a tool for absorbing the central-plains territory around 河南郡.

Hanji 152 part 2 shows Han Wang Xin staying with Liu Bang after the 彭城之战 rather than joining the post-defeat defections. The source groups him with 张耳 as one of the remaining Liu-side lords who withdraws toward 荥阳, making his loyalty a contrast case inside 实力重估式阵营转向.
