Hanji 957 adds the East Commandery pressure that precedes the later Hanji 961 and Hanji 970 Black Mountain branches. 于毒, 白绕, and 眭固 are named among the armed leaders attacking 东郡, where 王肱 cannot hold the position.
The source makes the Black Mountain field a problem that helps 曹操 as well as threatening existing administrators. Cao Cao defeats Bai Rao around 濮阳, receives 袁绍’s recommendation for Dong Commandery, and thereby gains the foothold developed further in Hanji 961.
Hanji 958 adds an earlier northern-disorder reference before the Cao Cao and Yuan Shao operational branches. The episode says the 青州黄巾军 intend to link with the Black Mountain forces before 公孙瓒 defeats them near 东光县.
This keeps the Black Mountain Army visible as a networked force field even when it is not the central target. Hanji 958’s role is anticipatory: it shows why a Qingzhou-Bohai disturbance could matter beyond one local battle and why later pages treat Black Mountain alignment as a recurring late-Han variable.
Hanji 961 adds an earlier operational branch before the Yuan Shu and Yuan Shao episodes. 于毒 attacks 东武阳, but 曹操 pressures Yu Du’s base instead of directly relieving the city. The move forces Yu Du to withdraw and leads into 内黄之战 against 眭固 and 于扶罗.
This makes the Black Mountain field visible as more than a northern Yuan Shao problem. In Hanji 961 it is already tied to Cao Cao’s early 东郡 operations and to a mobile coalition environment where mountain forces and 南匈奴 leadership appear in the same campaign sequence.
Hanji 969 adds an earlier side-branch before the fuller Yuan Shao-Black Mountain campaign in Hanji 970. In this source, Black Mountain remnants support 袁术 when 曹操 attacks him around Fengqiu, showing the network as a mobile disorder-era military resource rather than only Yuan Shao’s northern opponent.
黑山军 / Heishan Army is developed through Hanji 970 as the northern late-Han mountain-force field that threatens 袁绍’s base and then becomes his retaliation target. The episode first names 于毒’s Black Mountain-linked force in the 魏郡 soldier revolt and attack on 邺城, then moves to Yuan Shao’s wider campaigns against Yu Du, 张燕, and other mountain leaders.
The page is deliberately source-scoped. Hanji 970 does not give a complete institutional history of the Black Mountain Army; it uses the group as a flexible insurgent/military network whose leaders, soldiers, mountain positions, and outside ties can threaten commandery administration and force Yuan Shao into hard pacification. 陶生 complicates the picture by protecting Yuan Shao’s family even though he is part of the Black Mountain field.
