Hipmunk
Hipmunk appears in Steve Huffman on Reddit’s Origin Story, Sale, and Return as the travel startup Steve Huffman founded with Adam Goldstein after leaving Reddit. Huffman says he wanted to run a business more directly than he had inside [[CondeNast|Conde Nast]], and Hipmunk’s plane-ticket sales made the business model feel clearer because money changed hands.
The source also uses Hipmunk to show the cost of founder return. In 2015, Huffman was in the middle of a Hipmunk M&A process when Reddit asked him to return. Goldstein asked him not to leave until the process finished, but the Reddit crisis escalated and Huffman decided Reddit mattered enough to break that promise.
