鸿沟议和 / Honggou Settlement
Honggou Settlement / 鸿沟议和 is the boundary agreement in Hanji 166 between 刘邦 and 项羽. After 陆贾 fails and 侯公 succeeds as envoy, the two sides agree to divide the world at Honggou: the west belongs to Han and the east to Chu.
The episode treats the agreement as the origin of the later “楚河汉界” expression, but its immediate political function is hostage release. Xiang Yu returns 刘太公 and 吕雉, then withdraws; Liu Bang initially prepares to return west before 张良 and 陈平 urge pursuit.
The page is kept distinct from 广武. Guangwu is the battlefield-standoff location and ravine-symbol from earlier episodes; Honggou Settlement is the formal truce-and-boundary event that the host reads through 工具化议和毁约.
Hanji 167 follows the settlement into its immediate military aftermath. Liu Bang’s pursuit does not automatically become final victory: 韩信 and 彭越 initially fail to join, so 张良 has Liu Bang turn the pursuit into a renewed territorial bargain under 许地会师式动员. Honggou therefore becomes the diplomatic threshold before 垓下之战, not the end of the war.
