《后汉书》 / Hou Hanshu

Hanji 971 introduces 《后汉书》 as a competing source tradition for 曹嵩遇害 and the 徐州屠杀. For the murder, the episode presents this line as making 张闿 the escort-side subordinate who kills 曹嵩 and 曹德 for convoy wealth.

The same episode cites a Hou Hanshu atrocity line for 曹操’s retaliation at the 泗水. Both uses make the text important for the wiki’s late-Han branch: it shifts the immediate Cao Song killing from direct Tao Qian command toward subordinate robbery, while also preserving the severity of Cao Cao’s revenge in Xuzhou.

Hanji 967 adds another late-Han atrocity use. The host cites Hou Hanshu for the plunder of 长安 after 李傕 and 郭汜 return, preserving the catastrophic consequence of 贾诩’s counterattack advice without making the psychological reading of Jia Xu’s guilt a textual certainty.
