黄石公 / Huangshi Gong enters the wiki through 《资治通鉴·秦纪》123-2｜古代时期的“倒插门”到底有多危险 as the legendary old man who tests 张良 after the failed 博浪沙 attack. The episode also calls him 圯上老人, tying him to the bridge encounter where Zhang Liang retrieves and puts on the old man’s shoe.
The source treats the episode as a transformation scene. Zhang Liang’s patience and forbearance convince Huangshi Gong to give him 《太公兵法》, with the promise that ten years later the world will be in disorder and Zhang Liang can become a teacher of kings. This shifts Zhang Liang’s wiki role from remnant-Han assassin toward strategist and future adviser.
Qinji 130-1 reprises the same encounter with a stronger timing sequence. Zhang Liang arrives at dawn twice and is rebuked for being later than an old man; only on the third appointment, after arriving before midnight, does he satisfy Huangshi Gong. The episode therefore makes Huangshi Gong’s test a lesson in patience, humiliation tolerance, and exact timing.
Qinji 135 番外篇1 extends Huangshi Gong’s legendary-teacher role beyond Zhang Liang. In this source, 许负’s local teacher sends her toward Huangshi Gong because her understanding of 《周易》占卜 and 八卦 has surpassed ordinary instruction. Huangshi Gong then visits her family and gives her a text called 《心器密纸》, letting the episode authorize her 相人 method through the same hidden-master tradition that earlier authorized Zhang Liang.
