Overview

贾延 / Jia Yan enters the wiki through Hanji 599 as the Western Han Yushi Dafu whose removal creates the office vacancy through which 汉哀帝 restores 孔光 after 王嘉’s prison death.

Current Profile

The current evidence is narrow. Hanji 599 says Jia Yan is removed from the Yushi Dafu post just as Wang Jia’s final words reach Aidi. Aidi then appoints Kong Guang as Yushi Dafu, later promotes him to chancellor, and appoints 何武 to the Yushi Dafu role.

Jia Yan is therefore a transition marker in the episode’s personnel sequence, not yet a developed actor.

Key Characteristics

  • Western Han Yushi Dafu in the immediate Wang Jia aftermath.
  • Removed from office before Kong Guang’s appointment to the same post.
  • Functions as an office-vacancy marker in Aidi’s partial correction.

Evidence

  • Appointment sequence: Hanji 599 says Kong Guang is appointed Yushi Dafu after Jia Yan and later replaced in that office by He Wu after becoming chancellor.
