即墨 / Jimo
即墨 / Jimo enters the wiki as a city through 《资治通鉴·周纪》78丨齐国命运竟被城管给救了?. After 燕国 and 乐毅 occupy most of 齐国, Jimo remains one of only two Qi-held cities, alongside 莒城.
The episode says Jimo’s local official goes out to fight Yan and is killed. The people of Jimo then choose 田单 as commander because his earlier cart-axle decision during flight from Anping showed practical judgment under crisis.
This page is separate from 即墨大夫, the earlier official praised in Qi Wei Wang’s administrative audit. In Zhouji 78, Jimo is a defensive city and future counterattack base, not the same official-evaluation example.
《资治通鉴·周纪》79丨史上用耕牛 打胜仗第一人 turns that future counterattack into the city’s defining event. Jimo becomes the place where Tian Dan stages divine-sign theater, hardens morale after 骑劫’s atrocities, performs a false surrender, and launches the fire-ox night raid that breaks Yan’s occupation of Qi.
