Jugurtha / 朱古达 is the Numidian king whose war with Rome gives Gaius Marius / 马略 the command opportunity that turns outsider ambition into consular and military dominance.

Episode 701 first places Jugurtha at Numantia as a Numidian ally under Scipio Aemilianus / 小西庇阿, where Marius also serves and builds soldierly reputation. Jugurtha later becomes Rome’s African problem: he kills rivals for the Numidian throne, uses bribery to manage Roman politics, attacks Cirta against Roman instructions, and forces Rome into a difficult cavalry-favored war.
