巨鹿 / Julu enters the wiki through Qinji 132 as the besieged 赵国 refuge after 章邯 breaks 邯郸. 赵歇 and 张耳 flee there, while 王离 surrounds the city and 陈馀 camps to the north with several tens of thousands of men.
The source makes Julu the crisis that forces 芈心 / 楚怀王 to choose between old Warring States non-rescue failure and active coalition duty. Chu therefore sends 宋义 as chief general, 项羽 as second general, and 范增 as last general to rescue Zhao.
In this episode, Julu is mostly the destination rather than the completed battlefield. The title points toward Xiang Yu’s later fame, but the transcript itself ends with the command setup and Liu Bang’s separate westward movement under 怀王之约.
Qinji 133 keeps Julu offstage but makes it the pressure point behind the Chu command crisis. Song Yi’s halt at 安阳 depends on the idea that Qin and Zhao should first exhaust each other; Xiang Yu counters that if Qin destroys Zhao and absorbs its troops and supplies, Julu’s fall could strengthen Qin instead of weakening it.
Julu therefore becomes more than a besieged city. It is the test of whether the anti-Qin coalition can rescue a restored state before Qin defeats it separately, and it is the strategic emergency Xiang Yu uses to justify killing Song Yi.
Qinji 134 makes Julu the completed battlefield. The city is under growing pressure because 王离’s besieging army has men and food while Zhao’s grain and soldiers are being depleted. 陈馀 remains outside the siege, but his caution and the failed five-thousand-person attack by Zhang Yan and Chen Ze show why normal relief is not arriving.
The battle turns when 项羽 cuts the supply environment before forcing the final fight. 英布 and 蒲将军 break Qin’s corridor from 敖仓, then Xiang Yu crosses the nearby 漳水 and uses 破釜沉舟. Julu therefore becomes the place where siege, logistics, morale, and coalition authority converge.
