Overview

The Laestrygonians are giant cannibals whose seemingly perfect harbor destroys eleven of Odysseus’ twelve ships.

In 687. The Odyssey: Hero of the Trojan Horse (Part 1), the Laestrygonian harbor looks safe and attractive, but it becomes a trap once the giants hurl boulders from the cliffs and wreck nearly the whole fleet. Odysseus’ own ship survives because he keeps it outside the harbor.
