后周 / Later Zhou
Later Zhou / 后周 is the predecessor regime whose military and succession structure forms the background for 169.宋太祖之死:烛影斧声,阴谋论中的人性谜团(上). The episode uses 郭威, 柴荣, child emperor Chai Zongxun, and the contest among 张永德, 李重进, and 赵匡胤 to show why command appointments could become dynastic questions.
The source’s Later Zhou is a world where office, kinship, army control, rumor, and prophecy-like signs are inseparable. The “点检做天子” episode weakens Zhang Yongde and helps Zhao Kuangyin inherit the殿前都点检 position, while Chai Rong’s early death leaves a child ruler dependent on generals whose loyalties are not purely institutional.
For the wiki, Later Zhou is useful because it shows why the 北宋 founding cannot be understood only from later Song scholar-official culture. Song centralization begins as a response to a recent pattern of military men making and unmaking regimes.
