凉州 / Liangzhou (late Han) enters through Hanji 934 as the frontier region at the center of 崔烈 and 傅燮’s court dispute. Cui Lie treats repeated rebellion and rising military taxation as reasons to abandon the province; Fu Xie treats the same disorder as proof that the court must repair control rather than surrender the western shield.

The source’s strategic language makes Liangzhou more than a local trouble spot. Fu Xie calls it a key traffic corridor and national barrier, then ties it to earlier Han frontier policy: 刘邦’s post-founding western arrangements, 郦商 in Longyou, and 汉武帝’s Hexi expansion through Wuwei, Zhangye, Jiuquan, and Dunhuang. In this reading, abandoning Liangzhou would give enemy forces horses, space, and a future base from which to threaten the wider realm.
