刘交 / Liu Jiao
刘交 / Liu Jiao enters the wiki through Hanji 174 as 刘邦’s younger brother and one of the Liu-family kings installed after 韩信’s Chu kingship is removed. Liu Bang gives him the early Han 楚国, made from Xue, Donghai, Pengcheng, and related former Chu territory.
His grant is part of 同姓王分封. The source treats Liu Jiao less as a developed personal actor than as a royal-kin node in Liu Bang’s attempt to replace a dangerous different-surname king’s old base with family-controlled regional authority.
Hanji 188 gives Liu Jiao a vulnerable field role. 英布 / 黥布 defeats him before 刘邦 brings the main Han force toward Qi County, showing that a same-surname royal defense line can still be broken by an experienced rebel king. After the campaign, Liu Jiao receives the returning Liu Bang at Xuzhou before the party moves back to 沛县.
