刘交 / Liu Jiao enters the wiki through Hanji 174 as 刘邦’s younger brother and one of the Liu-family kings installed after 韩信’s Chu kingship is removed. Liu Bang gives him the early Han 楚国, made from Xue, Donghai, Pengcheng, and related former Chu territory.
His grant is part of 同姓王分封. The source treats Liu Jiao less as a developed personal actor than as a royal-kin node in Liu Bang’s attempt to replace a dangerous different-surname king’s old base with family-controlled regional authority.
