栾布 / Luan Bu

栾布 / Luan Bu enters the wiki through Hanji 184 as the friend and former subordinate who turns 彭越’s death into a public legitimacy challenge for 刘邦. The source presents him as an old acquaintance from the late Qin poverty and youxia world: Peng Yue had once redeemed him after capture and made him a Liang official.

His central act is deliberately dangerous. After Peng Yue is killed and his head is displayed at 洛阳 / 洛邑, Luan Bu burns offerings, mourns beneath the head, and is arrested. Liu Bang orders him boiled, but Luan Bu asks for one final statement and uses it to defend Peng Yue’s war merit and innocence.

The speech makes Luan Bu a Hanji 184 case of 赴死式直谏. He does not plead only personal loyalty. He argues that killing Peng Yue over a missed summons while ill will make all merit-holders fear the new regime. Liu Bang’s pardon and appointment of Luan Bu as duwei therefore belong to Pardon As State Power and to the broader repair of 战场胜利到建国秩序.
