吕臣 / Lu Chen (Qin Rebel)

吕臣 / Lu Chen enters the wiki through Qinji 129-3 as a former close attendant of 陈胜 who has become a general by the time Chen Sheng dies. After 庄谷 kills Chen Sheng and surrenders to 秦国, Lu Chen raises the Cangtou Army from Xinyang.

Lu Chen retakes Chen County, kills Zhuang Gu, and reopens the Chu banner after 张楚政权 has suffered a near-terminal collapse. He then reburies Chen Sheng at Dang County and honors him as Yin Wang. The host treats this as a modest restoration of dignity rather than a full undoing of Chen Sheng’s political failure.

Lu Chen’s role complicates the “everyone abandoned Chen Sheng” frame. Chen Sheng’s late conduct created 起义首领人心疏离, but Lu Chen’s revenge shows that his anti-Qin symbolic value still had residual force among some followers.

Qinji 129-4 adds that Lu Chen retakes Chen County through coalition rather than by his own remnant force alone. He joins with Panyang and 英布 / 黥布, defeats Qin troops, and again raises a Chu political line after Chen Sheng’s death.
