庐江郡 / Lujiang Commandery is the late-Han commandery that first tests 袁术’s credibility with 孙策 and later becomes the strong base Sun Ce captures indirectly from 刘勋.

The current synthesis presents Lujiang as a commandery whose political meaning changes over time. In Hanji 983 it is the reward Sun Ce is promised and denied, deepening the trust break with Yuan Shu. In Hanji 1038 it is Liu Xun’s defensible base; Sun Ce does not batter it head-on but empties it through the Shangliao lure and then takes 皖城.
