孟叔 / Meng Shu (early Han)
孟叔 / Meng Shu enters the wiki through Hanji 180 as one of 张敖’s followers who chooses public degradation rather than distance after the Zhao assassination case breaks open.
The source pairs him with 田叔. Neither is the main conspirator; their function is to show that Zhang Ao’s circle still contains men who openly bind their fate to him when Liu Bang’s order threatens anyone who continues to follow the Zhao king.
Hanji 180 part 2 gives that loyalty a post-crisis function. 刘邦 speaks with Meng Shu and Tian Shu after Zhang Ao is released, praises them, and appoints them to office. The host treats the move as a way to preserve useful Zhao elites after the court has removed Zhang Ao’s kingship and eliminated or lost several leading Zhao ministers.
This page uses the MengShuHan key to keep the early-Han retainer distinct from possible later Meng Shu name collisions.
