南郡 / Nan Commandery enters the wiki through 《资治通鉴·周纪》82丨大秦的核武器：白起来了！ as the 秦国 commandery created after 白起 conquers the 楚国 capital region around Ying in 278 BCE. The episode treats this not as a mere place-name notice, but as evidence that Qin can turn a broken royal center into an administered frontier of its own state.
The commandery therefore links battlefield violence to institutional incorporation.
