内黄之战 / Neihuang Battle (Late Han) enters the wiki through Hanji 961 as an early 曹操 campaign before the later 兖州 consolidation sequence. The source begins from 于毒 attacking 东武阳 while Cao Cao is stationed at 顿丘.

Cao Cao does not answer the siege with direct rescue. He marches west into the mountains toward Yu Du’s base, arguing that Yu Du will have to abandon Dong Wuyang if his own camp is threatened. If Yu Du refuses to return, Cao Cao can seize the base; if Yu Du returns, the siege is lifted. The source uses this as a late-Han application of 围魏救赵.

Yu Du withdraws, and Cao Cao then advances to Neihuang. There he defeats 眭固 and 于扶罗, the 南匈奴 chanyu.
